My name is Donna Jordan.  I started Sukha because I was tired of women being deceived by the cosmetics industry.  I am a smart woman.  I believe most women are smart.  We know that, if we are 35, or 55, or 85, nothing in a bottle is going to make us look 18 again.  We dont even necessarily want to look 18.  We know that in the real world you don't need to look like a teenager to be attractive or happy.

But even the most confident of us have had bad hair/skin/everything days - and then those glossy ads and all their fancy-sounding ingredients sound more convincing.  And before we know it, we have been sucked in to buying expensive bottle and tubes of petroleum derivatives and animal parts and artificial fragrances in pursuit of the impossible

I believe there is a better way.  I believe that you can feel good about yourself, even when you don't look 16.  I believe that you can care for yourself without spending $250 on a combination of oil and water.  I believe you can pamper yourself without buying from companies that test their products on animals.

I also believe that if an ingredient is potentially dangerous enough to need to be tested on animals, we probably shouldn't be rubbing it into our skin.  Our poor bodies are exposed to enough artificial and toxic chemicals in our day-to-day lives.  They're in our building materials, our clothes, our cleaning products, our food... even the air we breathe.  Many of them we can't avoid, but we certainly don't need to use them in skin care.

In plants, nature has provided us with a wealth of gentle, non-toxic ingredients that generations of human testing have proven both safe and effective.  These are what we use to make Sukha products.  All the ingredients in Sukha products are plant-based, environmentally and socially responsible and of the finest quality.  We use our products on ourselves and our children and we want the best!

We don't make outrageous claims for our products.  Sukha skin care will not make you 18 again, nor will it magically make your life perfect.  We simply provide gentle, affordable skin care that you can feel good about - inside and out.

Why Sukha?

The name Sukha comes from the Sanskrit word meaning 'when the sorrows of the body leave'  The modern world is often harsh, artificial and polluted and it takes a toll on our bodies.  Our aim is to help our customers; bodies release their 'sorrows' by making products that are gentle, natural and healing.
